Cape to Cape welcomes Elite Teams as registrations start filling up!

Cape to Cape MTB organisers are pleased to welcome back a number of Elite Teams for the 2011 event!

Rockstar Racing riders Josh Carlson, Troy Glennan and Shaun Lewis will be bringing newcomer Dwight Woodforth with them for this year’s race. Coming in at third place in the 2010 event, Josh Carlson will be looking to move up the ladder, as will 2010 sixth and seventh placed Glennan and Lewis.

Defending champion Dan McConnell is expected to return with Team Torq and will be joined for the first time at the Cape to Cape MTB by members of Swell / Redshift Racing team.  Three times Women’s champ Niki Fisher will again rider for Giant, while Avanti NZ team riders Mark ‘Cabin’ Leishman and Nic Leary are also confirmed to ride in 2011. Event stalwart Rohin Adams will again wear pink for Total Rush with gun local youngster Rowan Brown set to saddle up for Merida.

In an exciting development for local racing, newly formed WA Elite team Delta Automation will be sending Adrian Middleton, Claire Aubrey, Chris Fisher and David Nairn to compete in the 2011 event. Claire Aubrey claimed fourth place in the Open Female category in 2010 with a time of 9 hours 57 mins for the four stages, and will be looking to get that number down in 2011.

Event organisers are still fielding interest from a number of Team Managers to have their riders attend the 2011 event.  Registrations are filling up for all categories in the 2011 event, with record numbers of riders expected for the 2011 event. Ride management are looking at possibly capping numbers for the event this year, so get your registration in now to ensure you don’t miss out!
