Each year throughout the Cape to Cape MTB, the majority of our riders never get to see the elite riders up close and doing what they do best – ride! Cape to Cape ride management have been asked regularly for a chance to see the best riders in the world tackle the course, and in 2011 we have delivered such an opportunity! In conjunction with Red Bull, we are proud to announce the Red Bull Sundown Shootout, taking place on the afternoon of Friday 21st October in the Pines section of Margaret River.
This special event will happen at the half way point of the four stage event, on the afternoon following Stage Two, and will feature the leading male, female, masters and local category riders. The Red Bull Sundown Shootout will offer a unique chance for Cape to Cape MTB participants to watch the best riders take on the Pines trail before the whole field face it the following day. Special spectator points will be set up around the loop course, which will also offer amazing viewpoints as the riders take on the darkening shadows of the Pine Plantation as dusk looms in the south-west.
This very special event will be happening from 4pm-6pm, on Friday 21st October at the Margaret River Pines. To get to the Red Bull Sundown Shootout location, riders are directed to head north out of Margaret River on Bussell Hwy, keep driving past Carters Rd and the airport turn off and then look out for signage on the left hand side of Bussell Hwy.
Make sure to mark Friday afternoon in your diaries and get ready to watch the top end of the field battling it out in the first ever Red Bull Sundown Shootout!
