Cape to Cape MTB launches Legends program
Cape to Cape MTB is proud to launch Cape to Cape MTB Legends, a program that recognises the legends that have made Cape to Cape MTB what it is today.
Since the first edition back in 2008, nearly 9,000 individual participants have ridden what has become Australia’s largest and most popular mountain bike stage race, and a bucket list event for mountain bikers and adventure seekers across the world.
Incredibly two participants Bruno Wicki and Rowan Brown have ridden in all 16 editions of the race, with 32 having 10 or more in their legs and 463 who have competed in five or more.
Cape to Cape MTB Legends will be recognised based on 5, 10, 15 and soon hopefully 20 years of participation in the event. With participants receiving a special Cape to Cape MTB memento as they reach each tier.
5 years – Cape to Cape MTB Legends key ring
10 years – Cape to Cape MTB Legends Camelbak backpack
15 years – Cape to Cape MTB Legends custom Pedal Mafia jersey and personalised event bike plate
20 years – Stay tuned!
Legends will begin to be honoured at the 2025 edition running 16-19 October 2025, with a special bell to be rung by Legends when they collect their pack at registration, highlighting them to other participants and presentations made during the event.
A complete honour roll of Legends is available here.
Co-owner and Event Director Megan Grygorcewicz said, "As the new owners and custodians of this iconic event we wanted to find a way to recognise the participants who have been there for the ride and helped build Cape to Cape MTB into the event it is today."
"When looking back over the results and participant lists we were delighted to see how many riders come back to the event year after year, and we wanted to find a way to recognise and honour them.
"With that the Cape to Cape MTB Legends program was born. Congratulations to Bruno and Rohan on their 15 year awards and to everyone who is being recognised as part of this initial induction. We look forward to welcoming many more participants to the Legends program in the coming years."
