Destination Western Australia
Welcome to Margaret River
The Margaret River region in Western Australia’s South West is the place for indulging many passions. It’s the only wine region in Australia where you can hop from award-winning wineries and restaurants to stunning beaches, tall-timber forests, world-class surf breaks and ancient caves.
Producing more than 25 percent of Australia’s premium wine, the tastings are top notch. And besides over 150 wineries, you’ll be spoilt for choice with many fine restaurants, breweries and fresh produce available from Busselton in the north to Augusta in the south. Our fave has to be CBCo, home to the start and finish of Stage 3!
Be sure to sample the region’s divine cheeses, famous wines, delicious chocolate and quality coffee on your Margaret River travels. Check out our things to do page.

Climate
Margaret River owes its world-wide fame as a premium wine and surfing region to its mild weather and abundant sunshine. Here, the unique Mediterranean climate has blessed the South West region with more biodiversity per square kilometre than the whole of the UK.
Octobers daily average temperatures of 9 to 20°C are perfect for ride followed by a glass of red wine or beer by a log fire.
